Sewell soon became known as a talented editor of action, who could also bring emotional impact. Sewell edited many MGM classics, but is best remembered for her work on The Wizard of Oz, where her skillful editing ensured the film’s technical innovations worked to thrilling and magical effect. Now 80 years on, this timeless musical fantasy still casts an intoxicating spell.
