Film description
Visionary director Pablo Larraín (Gloria, A Fantastic Woman) returns with the dazzling Ema, an intoxicating tale of sex, art and chaos in modern-day Chile.
After a shocking incident upends her family life and marriage to a tempestuous choreographer, Ema – a reggaeton dancer – sets out on an odyssey of personal liberation, in this delirious drama, driven by an electrifying original score from Nicholás Jaar.
For this second screening in our new Heard and Now Seen film season with Sheaf St, Ema will be introduced by writer and artist Lucy Cunningham, with DJ Papi Chulo playing music inspired by the film before and after the screening, from 6.30pm.
Showing as part of Heard and Now Seen
A new film season, exploring ways in which electronic music and dance can help us better navigate the world around us.
