Film description

Dawson City: Frozen Time pieces together the bizarre true history of a collection of some 500 films from the dawn of cinema, which were lost for over 50 years only to be discovered, buried in a sub-arctic swimming pool, 350 miles south of the Arctic Circle.

With Frozen Time Morrison weaves together these permafrost protected gems with an enigmatic score by Sigur Rós collaborator Alex Somers, to chart the experiences of a frontier town destined for extinction and the earliest days of a new art form.
