Film description

Embedded in a number of prisons throughout the UK are training academies run by Timpson, a high street retailer specialising in shoe repairs, key cutting and photo processing. In this new feature length documentary we follow the story of two serving prisoners and their journeys through this unique training programme – each with a genuine chance of employment on their release. A Second Chance is a unique glimpse of lives regained.  

This special screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Rex Bloomstein.

Doors will open at 6pm.

The Picture House has two small steps at the main entrance. Step-free access to the auditorium and foyer is possible via a side entrance. Unfortunately none of the Picture House's toilets are accessible and both via a flight of stairs. The cinema has three wheelchair spaces – to reserve one of these, please select the 'wheelchair space' ticket during checkout.

The Picture House offers a range of hot and cold drinks, including beers and wines, alongside popcorn, sweets, ice creams (Northern Bloc) and vegan cakes (That Old Chestnut).
