Synopsis:

A dark and layered romance, My Cousin Rachel tells the story of a young Englishman who plots revenge against his mysterious and beautiful cousin, believing that she murdered his guardian. His feelings become complicated as he finds himself falling helplessly and obsessively in love with her. Based on Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name, writer/director Roger Michell (Le Week-end) isn’t the first filmmaker to adapt the English novelist’s work for the silver screen, with other notable examples including Hitchcock’s Rebecca (1940), The Birds (1963), and Nicolas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now (1973).
