Synopsis:

Signature Move tells a story we'd definitely never seen before: a queer Pakistani-American woman who discovers a passion for Lucha libre wrestling. It's a fresh and entertaining romantic comedy which also offers an honest look into the complicated issues of intersectional identity and intergenerational tensions

Signature Move has been selected to play by the Leeds Queer Film Festival to play as part of the Picture House's 2018 LGBT* History Month Programme. The Leeds Queer Film Festival is a DIY celebration of the best in new and alternative LGBTQ cinema from around the world. The 2018 festival runs from the 22nd to 25th March at Live Arts Bistro.

  • In telling their story, Reeder and Mirza finally make good on the abruption of the North American New Queer Cinema by 9/11, returning to the celebratory multicultural, intergenerational, complex lesbian films of the last century's end.
